Far far away

Guess what?

Tomorrow night I am getting on a plane and flying to Bangalore, India. In, you know, India. The family I sit for invited me to come along with them while they visit family and do a little work. I'll be there for three weeks. And I am so excited. And not really packed at all, even though we leave for New York (from whence our plane departs) this afternoon ...

I will have an internet connection the whole time, so after spending a silly number of hours on the plane I will come say hi.

It is going to be amazing.

Thanks-a-lot

Jaredboyfriendface bravely faced the potentially freezing and snow-driven landscape of the upper midwest to spend Thanksgiving with me and my family in Minnesota. And guess what? It was not that bad.

In fact, it was lovely.

We had Thanksgiving breakfast with my mom's side of the family and then dinner with family friends and some Viking players. There were some decidedly huge human beings. Plus, a ton of food to feed them. And football. Just what the pilgrims always wanted from this holiday, I think.

Weekend runaway ~ New York

Except for the three hours Jesyka and I spent trying to break into our friend's apartment, the weekend was a complete success. We ate unhealthy food, shopped, and wandered for hours.

Then we went home.

I love a good get-away.

Florence is for lovers

My first weekend in Italy was spent in Florence. I took the train from Milan the morning I arrived and by lunch I was eating gelato by the Uffizi and pretending it was 1530. Florence makes it easy to pretend things like that.

That night I walked across the city and up a hill to find a sunset.

Italian Holiday

Sometime ago I ran away to Italy. I came back, though. But with pictures to prove it and postcards for my loves. Also, with a deep appreciation for old-roommates who choose to study abroad in cool places like Milan and then let you sleep on their futon. Grazie.

Before I left I got the sweetest card.
